  1. Try your move

Keep the engine off and play the move you had in mind. Try the opponent’s strongest reply.

    What would I play here?

  2. Ask the engine

Return to the starting position and turn the engine on. Play its suggested move and follow the continuation.

    What does the engine suggest?

Finding your next chess move

How do I find the next best chess move from a picture?
Take a picture with Chessvision.ai, choose a saved image from Photos or Gallery, or share a screenshot to the app. The position opens on an interactive board. Turn on the engine to see its best move and suggested continuation.
Can I compare the move I played with the engine’s suggestion?
Yes. Open a screenshot from your completed game, play your move, and explore the reply. Then go back to the starting position and try the engine’s suggested move. You can move the pieces for either side.
Does it work as a chess move calculator?
The Chessvision.ai app includes an engine that evaluates the scanned position and suggests moves. Take a picture or open an image in the app to begin. This page introduces the app; analysis happens inside it.
Can I try my own idea before seeing the best move?
Yes. Leave the engine off while you explore the position, then turn it on to compare. See the engine controls.
Can I save a position to practice later?
Yes. Tap the star/save button after scanning, then open Inbox in Library with the same Chessvision.ai account. Add the moves you want to practice to a Study and enable Flashcards. See how to save a position.
Is Chessvision.ai free to try?
